Marrakech to Fes desert tours start from your accommodation at 8:00 AM. You will first cross the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi N'Tichka Pass (2260m). Enjoy everything on the road as you pass mud-brick Berber places and graze their sheep on grassy plateaus with snow-capped peaks. Photos, stretches, and coffee breaks will be made during the trip.
You'll arrive in Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO world heritage hamlet that used to film Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Game of Thrones, by lunchtime. After a guided tour of the mud-brick hamlet, you'll go to Ouarzazate, Africa's Hollywood, with its biggest film studios.
will also see the oasis of Skoura and Amridil, one of Morocco's best-preserved Kasbahs, after lunch. Travel through the Valley of the Roses to Kalaa Mgouna, then stay overnight at your accommodation in Dades Valley for a meal.
Your second day of Marrakech to Fes Sahara desert trip begins with a drive to Tinghir oasis via the 1001 Kasbahs route. You may appreciate the stunning countryside while visiting the remnant fortified settlements that hosted caravan routes until the early 20th century.
After arriving at Tinghir, a French military installation, take a minor route to the oasis. Walk beside the creek and observe people cultivating and herding animals. You'll finish your visit to Todgha Gorges, one of its most beautiful sights.
After lunch at a local café, you'll visit Rissani, one of Morocco's holiest towns. The Alaouites, the Kingdom's reigning dynasty, emerged here and are buried here. Rissani is known for commencing the historic caravan trails to Tombouctou over the Sahara desert.
After crossing rugged terrain in the afternoon, your camel caravan will be waiting at Merzouga. Before reaching your Sahara desert tent, you'll ride a camel across the Erg Chebbi dunes to see the sunset.
Dinner beneath the stars will be accompanied by your native nomad hosts' drumming all night. You'll sleep in your Saharan desert tent.
You'll arrive at the camp operator's lodge in Merzouga for breakfast and a shower after a daybreak camel journey across Erg Chebbi's dunes. If you upgrade to the luxury camp, breakfast is provided at the camp, and showers are available at your tent.
Pass via Errachidia, the Tafilalt capital, on a picturesque trip to Fes through the Ziz Valley with your driver/guide.
We'll take lunch in Midelt before heading over the Middle Atlas Mountains to Imouzzar and Ifran, Moroccan winter ski destinations, and the Cedar Forests.
Your driver may see Barbary apes on the way and snap photographs. You'll arrive in Fez late in the afternoon and be dropped off at your accommodation to finish your desert tours.
